New Delhi, September 3 (Daily Kiran) : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken significant action against a builder company and its directors by filing the 19th charge sheet related to fraud against homebuyers. This latest development is part of an ongoing investigation into widespread fraud involving homebuyers.
The charge sheet was filed against Earthcon Universal Infratech Private Limited and its directors concerning alleged fraudulent activities linked to the ‘Casa Royal’ housing project located in Greater Noida, Sector-1, Plot No. GH-10. The documents were submitted to the Rouse Avenue District Court in New Delhi before a special CBI judge.
Investigations revealed that the accused builder and its directors allegedly misled homebuyers and investors through false promises and deceptive practices, unlawfully benefiting from their investments. Solid evidence has been gathered, leading to the charge sheet being filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including criminal conspiracy, fraud, and criminal breach of trust.
Additionally, the CBI is currently investigating 30 other cases against various builder companies and unidentified officials from financial institutions across the country. These cases are connected to alleged fraud against homebuyers and the misappropriation of funds, as directed by the Supreme Court.
To date, the CBI has filed 18 other charge sheets against companies such as Rudra Buildwell Constructions Private Limited, Dream Procon Private Limited, and JP Infratech Limited, among others, as well as against some bank and financial institution officials.
