Ayodhya, July 22: A crucial meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is set to take place today at the Maniram Das Chhawani in Ayodhya. The agenda includes discussions on filling vacant positions within the trust and addressing several significant issues. Ahead of the meeting, local saints have intensified their demand for representation from local saints and individuals associated with the Ramanandi Vaishnav tradition.
Mahant Sitaram Das of Saket Bhawan expressed hope that under the leadership of Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, three new members will be appointed from the Ramanandi Vaishnav community. He emphasized that this would ensure the proper management of worship practices and religious traditions related to Lord Ram Lalla.
Mahant Sitaram Das stated that the saint community has long advocated for the inclusion of individuals deeply connected to Ayodhya’s religious traditions and the Ram Temple movement. He mentioned that a separate meeting for the saint community is scheduled for July 23, where they will strategize following the trust meeting’s decisions.
Meanwhile, Kalki Ram, President of the Ramdal Trust, underscored the importance of today’s meeting. He noted that several positions within the trust remain vacant, and for the first time, a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be appointed. According to him, various rumors about the trust have circulated within the community, and this meeting presents an opportunity to address those concerns.
Kalki Ram urged trust officials to prioritize individuals with ties to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement or those connected to Ayodhya when making appointments. He claimed that including individuals from outside states affects the sentiments of local saints and the community. He alleged that past appointments of outsiders led to controversies, tarnishing Ayodhya’s reputation.
He also remarked that since Lord Shri Ram’s life is intertwined with Ayodhya, the trust’s structure should reflect appropriate representation from local saints and representatives. Furthermore, he suggested that Mahant Kamalnayan Das be appointed as the successor to Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, considering the latter’s advancing age.
