Rajinikanths Statement Sparks Political Speculation in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, June 24: Superstar Rajinikanth made headlines on Wednesday with his statement, “Those who do not like us will never like us, no matter what we do. Conversely, those who support us will continue to do so regardless of the circumstances.” His remarks have ignited political speculation and widespread discussion on social media.

Rajinikanth made this comment during an event in Chennai, where the title and first-look poster of his 173rd film, “Therman,” were unveiled. Although the event was primarily focused on the film launch, his remarks regarding criticism and public perception became the main topic of conversation.

Addressing the audience, Rajinikanth noted that public figures often face contradictory expectations. He stated, “If we remain silent, people ask why we don’t speak. When we start talking, they say to keep talking. And when we continue to speak, those same people say we should have remained silent. We must understand that those who do not like us will never like us, regardless of our actions. Meanwhile, those who support us will do so in every situation. Expecting everyone to appreciate us is foolish.”

His statement has sparked debate in political circles, with many linking it to recent political events in Tamil Nadu. Political analysts suggest that Chief Minister Vijay has faced criticism for his public communication style and speeches in the assembly. His response to the Governor’s address on Tuesday also generated significant political discourse.

In this context, some have interpreted Rajinikanth’s comments as indirect support or advice for the Chief Minister. However, others argue that the actor was merely sharing his personal views on handling criticism and the pressures of public life.

This statement also recalls Rajinikanth’s earlier advice to youth against blindly imitating film stars before the assembly elections, which had similarly political implications and stirred controversy.

Rajinikanth’s 173rd film, previously known as “Thalaivar 173,” will be directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced under Kamal Haasan’s banner, Raj Kamal Films International. Reports suggest that director Shankar may play the main antagonist, while Malayalam actor Basil Joseph is likely to portray Rajinikanth’s son. The film’s music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

While the announcement of the film has excited fans, the focus remained on Rajinikanth’s comments about criticism and public perception long after the event concluded.
