Rajasthan: Yellow Alert Issued for Udaipur, Sirohi, Banswara, and Dungarpur; Heavy Rain Likely for Next 3-4 Days

(Kiran News) – The monsoon has become active once again in Rajasthan, bringing much-needed relief from heat and humidity in several regions.

Weather Alert and Rain Forecast

With the monsoon active again, Rajasthan is expected to receive more rainfall in the coming days. The monsoon trough line is likely to shift south of its normal position. According to the Meteorological Department, southern parts of the state are expected to see above-normal rainfall till 20 August, while the remaining regions will receive normal rainfall. From 21 to 27 August, the monsoon is expected to remain active over most areas, resulting in above-normal rainfall.

A yellow alert has been issued for Sirohi, Udaipur, Banswara, Pratapgarh, and Dungarpur. These regions may experience spells of rain for the next 3-4 days. There is also a chance of light rain with thunder and occasional strong winds (20–30 kmph).

Relief From Heat and Humidity

The return of the monsoon has brought relief from heat and humidity in many areas, including Jalore, after 15 days. On Friday evening (15 August), heavy rains began in several towns and cities of the district, making the weather pleasant. The Meteorological Department has advised farmers and the public to pay attention to weather updates and take necessary precautions.

Heavy Rain in Tonk and Eastern Rajasthan

On 15 August, many places in eastern Rajasthan recorded light to moderate rain, with some areas experiencing heavy showers. Western Rajasthan saw light to moderate rainfall at isolated locations. The highest rainfall in the state was recorded at Niwai, Tonk, with 93 mm.

Currently, maximum temperatures have dropped in many parts of Rajasthan. The highest temperature in the state was 37.4Β°C in Jaisalmer, while Sirohi recorded a minimum of 19.8Β°C.
