Jaipur, 6 December (Daily Kiran) – Preparations for the ‘Migrant Rajasthani Day’ event, organized on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, have entered the final stage. The event is scheduled for 10 December in the state capital Jaipur. Extensive work on greenery, decoration, and cleanliness is underway. Rajasthan is fully prepared to welcome guests, with great enthusiasm among migrant Rajasthanis and industrialists coming from across the country and abroad. So far, more than 8,700 people have registered for the event.
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Industry and Commerce Department, Shikhar Agrawal, inspected the venue (JECC, Sitapura) to review the arrangements. They examined the main ceremony hall, sectoral session halls, and the progress path showcasing the state government’s achievements. The Chief Secretary instructed officials to complete all tasks within the next 48 hours.
The Chief Secretary stated that preparations are being made as per the Chief Minister’s vision for this historic event. The Chief Minister continues to review the preparations and is personally inviting migrant Rajasthanis by engaging with them directly.
ACS Shikhar Agrawal said the main aim of this event is to connect migrant Rajasthanis with their roots and ensure their participation in the state’s development. A new policy has also been formulated to address challenges faced during this process.
Suresh Kumar Ola, Commissioner of the Industry and Investment Promotion Bureau, shared that following the Chief Minister’s instructions, Rajasthan’s culture and heritage have been prominently displayed at the venue to help migrant Rajasthanis feel a sense of belonging and take back fond memories.
Also present during the inspection were senior officials including JDA Commissioner Anandi, RECO MD Shivangi Swarnkar, Rajasthan Foundation Commissioner Dr. Manisha Arora, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Saini, and Additional Commissioner of BIP Jugal Kishore Meena.
Considering the possibility of guests visiting city tourist spots, extensive arrangements have been made. The Department of Archaeology and Museums has appointed nodal officers for protected monuments, while the Forest Department has assigned nodal officers to provide information about forest and wildlife tourism areas.
This is the first Migrant Rajasthani Day following the Chief Minister’s announcement. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma had declared last year, during the Migrant Rajasthani Conclave of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, that 10 December will be observed annually as Migrant Rajasthani Day. The main objective is to unite the Rajasthani diaspora and reconnect migrants with their roots.
