Jaipur, June 24: Rajasthan’s Leader of the Opposition, Tikaram Julie, has expressed strong objections to Health Minister Gajendra Singh’s recent statements, labeling them as condemnable.
In an interview with a news agency on Wednesday, Julie highlighted the current health situation in Rajasthan, stating that it is no secret. He pointed out recent deaths linked to cough syrup and malnutrition, contrasting them with the welfare schemes initiated during their government, which significantly benefited the public. He noted that these initiatives have led to a positive shift in the state’s healthcare landscape.
Julie mentioned several key programs introduced for public welfare, including the Right to Health, Chiranjeevi Scheme, RGHS Scheme, free medicines, free testing, and the Healthy Rajasthan Scheme. He emphasized that these initiatives have resulted in historic advancements in the state. However, he raised concerns about alarming cases of kidney failure emerging in Kota and Bikaner, as well as similar reports from Jodhpur and Nagaur, which he described as a major scandal. He accused the government of allowing counterfeit medications to circulate, contributing to these health crises.
He insisted that those responsible should face murder charges for endangering lives. Julie questioned the integrity of the investigators and those who authorized the production of such harmful injections. He called for the identification and strict action against these individuals. Despite the tragic loss of life, he lamented that no factories have been shut down yet. He criticized the government’s approach, stating that it unfairly blames the public instead of addressing the root issues. Julie urged the Chief Minister to take serious action regarding this matter.
