Jaipur, April 28: The National President of BJP, Nitin Nabin, and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated a 15-day state-wide ‘Gram Rath’ campaign on Monday. This initiative aims to promote the upcoming ‘Global Rajasthan Agri-Tech Meet’ (Gram-2026), scheduled to take place in Jaipur from May 23 to 25.
The campaign commenced at the OTS Complex, featuring specially designed ‘Gram Raths’ that will tour all gram panchayats in the state. These mobile outreach units will disseminate information about ‘Gram-2026′ and various welfare schemes initiated by the state government.
During the launch, Nitin Nabin emphasized that under the philosophy of Antyodaya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to ensuring that development reaches the last person in society. He highlighted initiatives like Jan Dhan, Make in India, and Skill India, stating that these programs empower citizens and enable youth to contribute to nation-building.
Praising the state government, he noted that under Chief Minister Sharma’s leadership, Rajasthan is experiencing a new pace of development. He mentioned that efforts to double farmers’ incomes and strengthen rural infrastructure are yielding positive results. The reach of ‘Gram Rath’ to every village is a commendable step towards inclusive development.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stressed that India’s progress depends on the empowerment of villages, farmers, and the agricultural sector. He stated that the state government is creating a robust ecosystem to enhance farmers’ incomes and generate new opportunities.
Highlighting the significance of ‘Gram-2026’, the Chief Minister said the event will bring together farmers, technical experts, industries, and investors on a single platform. Farmers and livestock owners will be introduced to modern agricultural techniques, while investors will learn about the vast potential of Rajasthan’s agricultural sector.
Moreover, the ‘Gram Rath’ will not only raise awareness about various schemes but will also feature a suggestion box, allowing citizens to directly communicate their feedback and grievances to the government. District-level officials will support this campaign to ensure prompt resolution of issues through the ‘Rajasthan Contact Helpline’ (181).
CM Sharma pointed out several central and state schemes benefiting farmers, including the Kisan Samman Nidhi, crop insurance, soil health cards, and the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund. He also mentioned welfare initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Swamitva, Vishwakarma Yojana, and the Swachh Bharat Mission.
He revealed that the state government has increased the financial assistance under the ‘Kisan Samman Nidhi’ from 6,000 to 9,000 rupees and provided over 2.18 lakh agricultural electricity connections. Additionally, farmers have received more than 53,000 crore rupees in subsidies on electricity bills and a bonus of 150 rupees on wheat purchases.
The Chief Minister reiterated that initiatives like ‘Gram Utthan Camp’ and ‘Developed Gram-Ward Campaign’ are being implemented to ensure ground-level development and achieve the goal of ‘Developed Rajasthan 2047’.
Before Gram-2026, the ‘Gram Rath’ campaign is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening access to rural areas, promoting new experiments in the agricultural sector, and connecting farmers with emerging opportunities.
