Rajasthan Ensures Adequate Fuel Supply Amidst Concerns

Jaipur, May 20: Rajasthan’s Chief Secretary, V. Srinivasan, chaired a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday to assess the supply and distribution of petrol, diesel, and LPG across the state.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary assured that there is sufficient stock of petrol, diesel, and LPG available throughout Rajasthan, urging the public not to panic-buy.

He emphasized that the situation is fully under control, with regular fuel supplies continuing seamlessly through the major pipeline network connected to Rajasthan.

Furthermore, he stated that the central government has assured the state administration that there will be no disruptions in fuel and LPG supply in the future.

To ensure transparency and effective monitoring, the Chief Secretary instructed oil and gas companies operating in the state to release daily district-wise data regarding the availability and distribution of petrol, diesel, and LPG.

He mentioned that daily reviews of stock status and supply mechanisms at the district level will be conducted to prevent rumors and avoid any artificial shortages.

The Chief Secretary also directed officials to closely monitor the bulk sale of petrol and diesel in open drums.

He stressed the need to strengthen monitoring systems to curb illegal fuel sales and prevent disruptions in the supply chain. He assured that the administration is keeping a constant watch on the situation.

In a plea to the public, he urged them to ignore rumors and refrain from unnecessary hoarding, as such actions could place undue pressure on the supply network despite the availability of sufficient fuel.

Ambreesh Kumar, Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, stated that continuous monitoring is being conducted at the departmental level to prevent any illegal sales or black marketing of petrol, diesel, and LPG in the state.

The meeting included senior officials from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), as well as representatives from private fuel suppliers, petrol pump dealers’ associations, and officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department.
