Rajasthan Braces for Storms and Rain Until April 4

Jaipur, April 2: The Jaipur Meteorological Center has issued a warning for Rajasthan as a strong weather system is set to activate from Thursday. This will bring thunderstorms and scattered rainfall across various parts of the state until April 4. The weather has remained largely clear over the past 24 hours.

Changes in weather were observed in Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Bikaner, where clouds gathered on Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by light to moderate winds. Some bordering areas of Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar experienced light rain and drizzles. Several districts, including Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Churu, Sikar, Jaipur, Nagaur, Barmer, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Jhunjhunu, and Tonk, also saw cloud cover, reducing sunlight and providing some relief from the heat.

In major cities like Barmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kota, and Udaipur, maximum temperatures ranged between 35 to 36 degrees Celsius. The cloud cover in Sikar during the afternoon led to a slight decrease in temperature.

According to official data, Chittorgarh recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, while Alwar had a minimum of 18.2 degrees Celsius.

Other locations reported temperatures of 35.5 degrees Celsius in Barmer, 35.4 degrees Celsius in Jodhpur and Bikaner, 35.8 degrees Celsius in Kota, 35 degrees Celsius in Alwar, 35.2 degrees Celsius in Udaipur, 34.5 degrees Celsius in Churu, and 33.6 degrees Celsius in Jaipur, Sikar, and Ajmer. Sri Ganganagar recorded a temperature of 32.4 degrees Celsius. During this time, thunderstorms and strong winds were noted in some areas across the state.

Deogarh (Rajsamand) recorded the highest rainfall at 12 mm. Meteorological Center Director Radheshyam Sharma indicated that this weather system will remain active on April 3 and 4, causing cloud cover and light to moderate rain in several districts.

Strong winds and possible hailstorms are also expected in regions including Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Churu, Phalodi, Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, and Dausa.

The impact of this system is expected to diminish by April 5, after which clear weather is likely across Rajasthan.
