Pavlohrad, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, reported that a drone strike by Russia in Pavlohrad has killed at least five people and injured 67 others. The attack, which targeted civilians near a shopping mall during the day, is being described as a deliberate act of terror against non-combatants.
In a post on the social media platform X, Sybiha stated, “Russia has taken five lives in drone strikes in Pavlohrad. The attacks injured 67 people, targeting ordinary citizens near a shopping mall in broad daylight. This has been labeled a calculated act of terror against civilians.”
Sybiha emphasized that Russia continues to strike areas where it knows people are engaged in daily activities. The intent behind these attacks appears to be to inflict maximum harm, instill fear, and exert pressure on Ukrainian society.
He noted that air raid alerts are ongoing across Ukraine, with Russia launching a significant number of drones, some reportedly dispatched directly from production facilities.
The minister accused Moscow of maintaining its assault capabilities due to its stockpile of missiles, drones, and financial resources, enabling it to operate without fear of repercussions.
Sybiha characterized this strategy as a means of pressure, suggesting that Russia believes continuous attacks on civilian areas will wear down the Ukrainian populace and compel the country into negotiations.
He called for immediate support in the form of additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles necessary for their operation. Furthermore, he urged for stricter sanctions on Russia’s arms manufacturing industry and its supply chains, as well as measures to cut off funding sources for these military activities.
“The air raid warnings currently echoing in Ukraine should resonate louder in the capitals of all our allied nations,” Sybiha added. “It is no longer the time for mere expressions of concern and lengthy discussions. We need to take decisive actions to prevent such attacks and diminish Russia’s military capabilities.”
In conclusion, he asserted that Russia should not gain any advantage from its strategy of targeting civilians. Instead, efforts must be made to eliminate the means by which it continues these attacks.
