Rajasthan BJP President Apologizes for Incorrect Vande Mataram Tune at Independence Day Ceremony

Jaipur, August 15: A controversy erupted during the BJP’s Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony at Badi Chaupar in Jaipur. The issue arose when an incorrect tune was played instead of the original version of the national song, Vande Mataram.

Following the incident, Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore publicly apologized and accepted moral responsibility for the mistake.

This incident occurred on the morning of August 15 during the BJP’s traditional Independence Day event. After Rathore hoisted the national flag from the main stage, Vande Mataram was supposed to be played as part of the ceremony.

However, due to a clear error by the sound operator and the event’s sound team, a different tune was broadcast over the loudspeakers instead of the original version of Vande Mataram.

Senior leaders present on stage, including MP Manju Sharma and MLA Bal Mukund Acharya, appeared visibly uncomfortable with the situation. The organizing team attempted to rectify the audio error promptly, but the footage of the incident had already been recorded and widely circulated on social media.

After the event, Rathore addressed the media, expressing regret on behalf of himself and the party. He attributed the incident to technical and human errors by the team responsible for the arrangements and stated that as the state president, he accepts moral responsibility.

Rathore emphasized the importance of respecting the national anthem and national song, publicly apologizing to the public for this mistake. He also mentioned the need for special caution in adhering to protocols during national festivals, stressing that such errors should not occur at events of national significance.

Badi Chaupar in Jaipur has long been associated with the city’s political and public life. This open square has traditionally hosted Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations, attended by political leaders, businesspeople, activists, and ordinary citizens.

The BJP has continued its traditional flag hoisting program at Badi Chaupar during national occasions, making this location a significant part of the party’s public events in Jaipur.
