High Alert in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir Following Reports of Suspicious Activity
Security forces launched a search operation in Kathua after locals reported suspicious individuals in the area.

Kathua, October 26 (Daily Kiran) : Security forces initiated a search operation in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, following reports from local residents about suspicious activity in the area. On Monday, officials confirmed that a joint team comprising the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Special Operations Group (SOG), the army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) began the operation in the Karanadi region.
The operation was launched after villagers reported seeing suspicious individuals near the international border. Alerts were also issued regarding similar sightings near the Ujja Nala in the Kote Panu and Pundori villages.
This action comes in the wake of multiple reports of suspicious activities, including drone sightings and concerns over potential infiltrations. Security forces have previously conducted extensive search operations along the international border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier this month, alerts were raised following sightings of a suspected Pakistani drone near the LoC in Poonch district, prompting security forces to enhance vigilance and launch anti-infiltration campaigns.
On August 20, a joint team of agencies conducted a search operation in the forests of Billawar, Kathua, after reports of suspicious individuals. Additionally, on September 3, the 44th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended a suspected Pakistani infiltrator near the international border in the Kanachak area of Jammu.
Earlier this year, security forces detected suspicious drone activities in Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch, along with intercepting signals from suspected satellite phones. These incidents led to controlled firing and the recovery of weapons and narcotics.
