Kolkata Residents Criticize Kharges Controversial Remarks on PM Modi
Kolkata citizens express discontent over Congress leader Kharges remarks about PM Modi, calling them disrespectful and inappropriate.

Kolkata, October 26 (Daily Kiran) : In Kolkata, reactions have poured in regarding Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s controversial comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many residents expressed their displeasure, labeling the remarks as a personal attack and an inappropriate tactic in politics. They emphasized that while political differences and opposition are essential to democracy, targeting a leader’s family is unacceptable.
Reena Das Roy, a local resident, stated that as a common citizen, she finds such comments inappropriate. She emphasized that the Prime Minister holds a significant position and deserves respect from the public. “It is not right to make remarks about someone’s father,” she said, urging Kharge to reconsider his statements.
Das Roy also asserted that if someone wishes to express their views, it should be done respectfully. While she acknowledged the right to protest as a democratic privilege, she condemned personal attacks against family members during such demonstrations.
Another resident, Ramesh, commented that while accusations are common in politics, targeting the Prime Minister’s father exemplifies poor political behavior. He noted that he does not support any political party but disagrees with this kind of politics. Ramesh pointed out that such tactics have contributed to Congress’s declining influence across the country, warning that if this continues, the party may face further setbacks.
He highlighted that the Prime Minister is a constitutional figure representing the entire nation, not just one political party. “A personal attack on the Prime Minister is an insult not only to him but to the entire country,” he stated, urging every Indian to voice their opinion on the matter.
A young man added that personal attacks against the Prime Minister for political reasons are unjustifiable. He described the Prime Minister as a guardian of the people and deemed comments about his father as shameful. His stance was not based on political affiliation but on a principle of respect for family.
Rohit Singh expressed that such remarks about the Prime Minister are embarrassing and should not be endorsed. He stressed that regardless of political beliefs, respect for the Prime Minister is essential. Criticism of the Prime Minister’s policies is one thing, but personal attacks cross a line.
Chandrimma Singh condemned the personal attacks on the Prime Minister entirely. She noted that such comments negatively impact the general public. Many people admire and respect Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and while political disagreements are valid, the nature of these remarks has upset many.
