Jaipur, 26 August (Kiran News). Continuous heavy rainfall in Rajasthan has affected normal life across the state. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Jalore, Sirohi, and Udaipur districts on Tuesday. Additionally, a yellow alert has been announced for Barmer, Pali, Rajsamand, Dungarpur, Banswara, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Alwar. For safety reasons, schools have been declared closed in eight districts on Tuesday.

On Monday, heavy rainfall caused waterlogging in many cities, towns, and villages. In Udaipur, one person died due to a house collapse. Water flooded the tracks at Sikar Railway Station, and Kota University postponed exams scheduled for 26 August. The Kherwara-Jhadol road (NH 927A) in Udaipur was closed after water from the Som river entered the route. In Sirohi, a car was swept away at the Jawai river crossing between Shivganj and Sumerpur, but police and local residents safely rescued the man and woman in the car. At Sikandra intersection in Dausa, the Jaipur-Agra National Highway has been waterlogged for the past three days.
In the last 24 hours, several areas recorded significant rainfall. Neemkathana in Sikar received 54 mm, Ringas and Palsana 31 mm each, Shrimadhopur 32 mm, Suratgarh in Sri Ganganagar 25 mm, Mount Abu in Sirohi 45 mm, Bisau in Jhunjhunu 45 mm, Rawatsar in Hanumangarh 28 mm, Deval in Dungarpur 50 mm, Dungarpur city 42 mm, Chikli 27 mm, Mahuwa in Dausa 25 mm, Rajgarh in Churu 45 mm, Dungla in Chittorgarh 48 mm, Beawar 30 mm, and Kalyanpur in Balotra 25 mm rainfall.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Jaipur, the current monsoon trough is active from Bikaner, Jaipur, Agra, Prayagraj, Daltonganj, Jamshedpur up to the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, many parts of the state are likely to experience continued rainfall until 27 August.
