Lucknow, May 26: The political atmosphere is heating up following Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent assertion that the NDA government will fall within the next year. Leaders from the BJP and NDA have sharply criticized his remarks.
In response, Ajay Rai, the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, openly supported Gandhi, stating that his statements reflect both his vision and his strong connection with the public.
Speaking in Lucknow, Rai emphasized that Gandhi has established a significant presence in the country. He noted that people from all walks of life are showing trust in Rahul Gandhi, including upper castes, backward classes, Dalits, and minority communities. Rai mentioned that the growing support for Gandhi indicates that he is resonating with the public and consistently addressing their concerns, which is contributing to his rising popularity.
Additionally, Rai responded to former Vice President Hamid Ansari’s comments about declaring the cow as the national animal. He agreed with Ansari’s statement and referenced Arshad Madani, the President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, who also advocated for the cow’s national status.
Rai criticized the government, pointing out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi refers to Israel as a ‘fatherland,’ where beef consumption is prevalent. He also highlighted that in Iran, cows are not slaughtered, nor is beef consumed.
