Rahul Gandhi Highlights Impact of West Asia Crisis on Indian Economy

New Delhi, March 10: Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi stated on Monday that the ongoing war in West Asia is severely damaging India’s economy, yet our accommodating Prime Minister lacks the courage to address it.

In an informal conversation with reporters outside Parliament, he warned that the conflict in West Asia, which aims to bring significant changes to global politics, could inflict heavy losses on the Indian economy. He noted that the crisis is already affecting rising LPG prices, a significant drop in the stock market, and record-high global crude oil prices. These factors are directly impacting the common man, household budgets, and small to medium-sized businesses.

Gandhi emphasized that developments in West Asia are a matter of public interest and should be discussed in Parliament. He stated that the opposition is demanding this discussion because it directly affects the citizens and the Indian economy.

He raised concerns about the reluctance to discuss the events in West Asia, especially given their devastating impact on the Indian economy. He questioned, “Isn’t this all significant?” He further accused Prime Minister Modi of preventing this discussion due to fears of being blackmailed and the potential for further revelations.

Pointing to the Prime Minister’s exit from Parliament, Gandhi remarked, “He will not be able to return to Parliament now.”

He added that other issues, such as the motion against the Speaker, can be discussed later, and the opposition parties are also prepared to engage in those discussions.
