Uttarakhand MP Anil Baluni Advocates for Inclusion of Villages in Vibrant Village Scheme

New Delhi, March 25: Garhwal Lok Sabha MP Anil Baluni recently met with Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. During this meeting, he submitted a letter requesting the inclusion of several village councils from the Jyotirmath development block in Chamoli district into Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious ‘Vibrant Village’ scheme.

Baluni shared on the social media platform X, “I met with Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and submitted a letter requesting the inclusion of village councils like Jailam, Jumma, Kaga Garpak, and Dronagiri from Jyotirmath in the visionary ‘Vibrant Village’ scheme aimed at uplifting and enriching border villages.” The Home Minister assured him of prompt and appropriate action on this matter.

The MP also shared a copy of the letter, which detailed the request. It noted that several villages in the Niti Valley have already been included in the Vibrant Village scheme, which is a commendable step. This initiative aims to strengthen infrastructure in border areas, enhance the living standards of local citizens, and promote overall development.

However, village councils like Jailam, Jumma, Kaga Garpak, and Dronagiri under the Jyotirmath development block remain excluded from this scheme. Residents of these villages have long been advocating for inclusion. The letter politely urged Amit Shah to consider incorporating these councils into the scheme, ensuring that residents have equal opportunities for development and can fully benefit from the program.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, this scheme primarily focuses on the comprehensive development of villages located near India’s northern border (LAC). Its objective is to promote self-reliance and vitality in these villages by enhancing infrastructure in areas such as roads, electricity, water, education, health, tourism, and livelihood opportunities. This will not only improve the living standards of local residents but also strengthen border security.

Several border villages in Uttarakhand, including those in Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Rudraprayag districts, have already been included in this scheme. The demand for including the aforementioned village councils from the Jyotirmath area is gaining momentum at the local level.
