
New Delhi, March 25: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan virtually inaugurated the International Academic Conference on ‘Integral Humanism, India’s World View’ at Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru, on Wednesday.
The Vice President praised the collaboration between Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru, Pragya Pravah, and the Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee Research Foundation for organizing the event. He noted that this conference celebrates sixty years of Integral Humanism, a profound philosophical and civilizational framework introduced by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, which remains highly relevant today.
He highlighted that Integral Humanism emphasizes the interconnectedness of individuals, society, nature, and the universe. In a world facing increasing division, stress, and a lack of trust, he stressed that this philosophy offers a path to harmony through religion, guided by values such as duty, truth, compassion, and service.
The Vice President asserted that true development must be holistic, nurturing the body, mind, intellect, and soul while maintaining balance with nature. He emphasized the importance of duty and service in public life and referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.’ He stated that the goal of a developed India by 2047 is based on moral values and cultural heritage, linked to the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.’
Regarding rapid technological advancements, he remarked that while humanity possesses vast technological capabilities, ethical guidance is essential. He emphasized that technology should serve human welfare and be employed wisely in accordance with public welfare ideals.
Calling for the practical application of Integral Humanism, the Vice President urged stakeholders to promote its principles in policy and action to create a balanced and harmonious world. He also extended his best wishes for the success of the conference.
This conference is being held from March 25 to 27, organized by Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) in collaboration with the Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee Research Foundation.
