New Delhi, March 25: Kashmiri separatist Asiya Andrabi has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Delhi court under the UAPA. BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh stated that this reflects Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a new India, where there is no room for anti-national forces.
In an interview in New Delhi, Chugh emphasized that the stringent decision against terrorism sends a clear and strong message that anti-national elements have no place in India. He highlighted that Prime Minister Modi’s ‘zero-tolerance’ policy is evident on the ground. During the Congress regime, there were numerous instances where then-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was seen posing for photos with individuals linked to terrorism. Dangerous criminals who murdered government officials were treated with undue respect and photographed.
Responding to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s comments on India’s foreign policy, Chugh remarked that Gandhi’s irresponsible statements and subsequent exit from the all-party meeting reflect the political seriousness of him and the Congress party. He noted that even on national issues, Gandhi often behaves in ways that criticize the country, suggesting he acts against national interests. Under Congress, foreign policy was weak and under pressure. Today, under PM Modi, India stands confidently on the global stage.
Regarding the demand for a CBI investigation into the Gagandeep Randhawa suicide case, Chugh stated that Laljit Bhullar, a former minister in the Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government, is receiving VIP treatment from the police and is being shielded. This is unfortunate. The show of power during court appearances has been witnessed by all. The Punjab government’s attitude is completely unacceptable, and this case should be immediately handed over to the CBI.
On Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Gujarat, Chugh criticized that while the common people of Punjab struggle with inflation and economic hardship, Kejriwal, the ’emperor of the glass palace,’ is using the Punjab Chief Minister’s aircraft for his trip. Ordinary Punjabis are forced to pay small amounts, while the Bhagwant Mann government is spending taxpayer money on Kejriwal’s travels. Kejriwal, masquerading as a common man, has been living a lavish lifestyle on the public’s money. During the COVID pandemic, he was busy building his glass palace. Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann are engaged in plundering Punjab’s treasury.
