Raghav Chadha Receives Z-Category Security from Central Government Amid Tensions with AAP

New Delhi, April 15: The Central Government has granted Z-category security to Raghav Chadha, a Rajya Sabha member from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), providing him significant protection. According to sources from the Ministry of Home Affairs, this security will be effective in both Delhi and Punjab, with paramilitary forces responsible for his safety.

This decision was made based on a threat perception report from the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The Ministry assessed all aspects related to security before taking this step.

The Punjab AAP government had previously withdrawn Chadha’s state-level security. When he was elected as a Rajya Sabha member from Punjab, he had been provided high-level Z-plus security by the state government.

Recently, tensions between Raghav Chadha and the AAP leadership have become apparent. The situation escalated when the party removed him from the position of Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha on April 2. Following this decision, Chadha expressed strong discontent, stating that he had been silenced but not defeated.

He recently shared a video on Instagram titled “Raised Voice, Paid the Price,” showcasing various issues he raised during parliamentary sessions. In his post, he mentioned that those questioning his parliamentary performance would find answers in his work.

The AAP accused Chadha of not being vocal enough against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government, focusing more on his publicity.

However, Chadha has completely rejected these allegations, labeling them as false. He stated that he goes to Parliament to raise public issues, not to create disturbances. Since his removal from the Deputy Leader position, Chadha has remained active on social media, sharing numerous videos and posts to express his views.

Currently, the decision to enhance his security is seen as a significant relief for him, but discussions continue in political circles regarding the growing rift between him and the party.
