Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes BJP Over Womens Reservation Bill Amid Allegations of Harassment

Lucknow, April 19: Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party (SP), launched a verbal attack on the central government on Sunday regarding the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ (Women’s Reservation Bill). He accused the BJP of orchestrating a dangerous conspiracy to mislead the nation on the issue of women’s reservation. Yadav praised opposition parties for exposing this truth.

During a press conference, the SP leader stated that the BJP is attempting to exploit women’s rights for political gain while diverting attention from real issues. He claimed that the BJP aims to confuse the public by limiting women’s rights to mere electoral slogans.

Yadav also met with Aryan Yadav, a young man running a tea shop in Fatehpur, and presented him with tea utensils. Aryan had alleged that since serving tea to the SP president, he has faced harassment from officials and local leaders.

In an interview, Aryan revealed that after serving tea to Akhilesh Yadav, he has been threatened with severe consequences. He mentioned that some individuals even assaulted him, yet the police have taken no action.

While addressing the press, Yadav asserted that the central government intends to create divisions among women through the Women’s Reservation Bill, but the unity of the opposition has thwarted this conspiracy. He accused the ruling government of merely performing and making empty promises regarding women’s rights, without taking any substantial steps to ensure their participation at the grassroots level.

He stated, “Instead of empowering women, the BJP wants to present them merely as a political issue.” Yadav reiterated the demand for a caste-based census, emphasizing that any deviation from the established process would instill confusion and fear among the populace. He urged the central government to adhere to administrative norms, arguing that granting rights to half the population without proper representation is unjust.

He concluded by asserting that the emerging opposition is the true voice of various segments of society. The public is beginning to understand the politics of fear and confusion propagated by the BJP. He claimed that the BJP’s so-called ‘CMF (Create Mistrust and Fear) Formula’ is now outdated, and the public is rejecting it. Growing public awareness and women’s consciousness will alter the political landscape in the near future.
