Lucknow, April 19: Uttar Pradesh Minister OP Rajbhar has criticized Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav. He questioned how someone who cannot stand up for his wife’s honor can have any regard for the women of the country.
In a discussion in Lucknow, Rajbhar targeted the SP over its opposition to women’s reservation and alleged appeasement of Muslims. He mocked Yadav’s press conference, asking who the assailants of the tea vendor were, suggesting they belonged to the Muslim community. Rajbhar claimed Yadav failed to identify the attackers, indicating a reluctance to name those within his party who are involved.
He stated that while helping individuals is commendable, the SP’s tendency to tarnish the reputation of the BJP and NDA over such issues is typical of their behavior.
Rajbhar pointed out that while Yadav speaks of women’s reservation, the nation is aware that women constitute half of the population. He noted that the Constitution, drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, guarantees equal rights. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have proposed a bill to reserve seats for women in politics, which the SP and Congress opposed.
He further questioned Yadav’s silence when a cleric made derogatory remarks about his wife, implying that if he cannot defend his own, how can he advocate for the women of the country?
Rajbhar concluded that the SP’s modus operandi is to deceive, defame others, and shift the blame for their own shortcomings.
