Ranchi, April 6: The 16th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women’s National Championship 2026 showcased thrilling matches on its fifth day. In Division A, Hockey Punjab, Uttar Pradesh Hockey, Hockey Madhya Pradesh, and Hockey Jharkhand celebrated victories. Meanwhile, in Division B, Hockey Bengal and Hockey Arunachal secured wins at the Rajgir Sports Complex.
In Pool A of Division A, Hockey Punjab triumphed over Hockey Maharashtra with a score of 2-0. Sangat Singh scored in the 10th minute, followed by Akash Deep in the 53rd minute. In Pool C, Uttar Pradesh Hockey dominated Manipur Hockey, winning 17-1. Shahrukh Ali was the star of the match, netting 11 goals at intervals of 5, 22, 23, 24, 29, 33, 35, 36, 49, and 59 minutes. Nitish Yadav contributed two goals in the 3rd and 18th minutes. Captain Kushwaha Ketan and Karan Dhank also added goals in the 6th and 17th minutes, respectively. For Manipur, Maibam Manimatum scored the only goal in the 14th minute.
In Pool D, Hockey Madhya Pradesh achieved a resounding 10-1 victory against Kerala Hockey. Ryan Ul Haq completed a hat-trick with goals in the 5th, 34th, and 36th minutes. Gazi Khan, Captain Ansh Bahutara, Ayush Singh Lodhi, Karan Gautam, Deepak Singh, and Devaraj Prajapat also contributed goals. In Pool B, Hockey Jharkhand narrowly defeated Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Hockey 1-0, with Ashish Tani Purti scoring the only goal in the 22nd minute.
In Division B, Pool A, Hockey Bengal overwhelmed Hockey Gujarat, winning 18-0. Munna Kumar Singh scored six goals, while Sujal Turi and Sujal Balmiki each completed hat-tricks. Risav Ray and Ratan Bind scored two goals each, with contributions from Captain Riju Bar and Abhishek Thakur.
In Pool B of the same division, Hockey Arunachal edged out Chhattisgarh Hockey 5-3. Shubham Rajbhar scored three goals, while Ashwini Patel and Mohit Yadav added to the tally. For Chhattisgarh Hockey, Om Kumar Yadav and Gopal Paikara found the net.
