Kolkata, April 9: The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) received a significant boost ahead of their 15th match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Sunil Naren has recovered from his illness. However, Varun Chakravarthy’s participation remains uncertain due to a finger injury. This match is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens Stadium on Thursday.
A statement from the franchise noted, “Sunil fell ill on the morning of the match against PBKS, which is why he was not part of the playing eleven. Since then, he has been feeling much better and has trained with the team on both Tuesday and Wednesday, participating in batting and bowling sessions.”
Naren’s return is expected to strengthen KKR’s bowling unit, which struggled in their last match against the Punjab Kings.
