Punjab Congress Leaders Voice Concerns During Bhupesh Baghels Visit

Chandigarh, July 11: Punjab Congress leaders expressed their concerns regarding organizational issues during meetings with party in-charge Bhupesh Baghel. Pratap Singh Bajwa, the leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly, commented on Baghel’s five-day visit, stating that party leaders and workers had ample opportunity to voice their issues and suggestions.

Bajwa recounted that during a ride from the airport to his residence, it was agreed that Baghel would listen to both major and minor concerns from party leaders. Throughout his stay, several meetings over lunch, dinner, and breakfast were held, allowing various Congress leaders to share their opinions.

He mentioned, “Legislator Rana Gurjeet Singh, my colleague in the Assembly, called me for a meeting that included many leaders from Punjab. During this time, leaders presented their concerns to Bhupesh Baghel and urged him to relay these to the party high command. They expressed a desire for their issues to be heard at the top level of the organization and for appropriate solutions to be found.”

Bajwa noted that Baghel assured all leaders that their concerns and interests would be taken into account. He promised to present all issues to the party high command and to act according to the directives received.

Furthermore, many leaders expressed a wish for the party leadership to provide them with opportunities to contribute further. Bajwa stated, “Leaders are confident that their voices will be taken seriously. The people of Punjab want Congress to work unitedly and to advance on issues concerning the state’s interests.”

He emphasized that any disputes or differences can only be resolved through dialogue. All leaders shared their views during the meeting, fostering a positive atmosphere for discussion.

Bajwa compared Baghel’s role to that of a senior figure in a family or community, who seeks to resolve disputes through conversation. He affirmed, “Bhupesh Baghel is the party in-charge, and everyone trusts that he will report back to the high command independently.”

He urged all leaders to maintain their confidence and expressed hope that the party would unite to formulate a strategy for Punjab’s future.
