
Chandigarh, June 3: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reviewed two significant projects aimed at enhancing the state’s cultural identity and showcasing its rich heritage to the world.
During a high-level meeting of the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, Chief Minister Mann approved the construction of a grand welcome gate at the Shambhu border, designed to celebrate Punjab’s architectural heritage. He also sanctioned the revised Heritage Street project in Anandpur Sahib.
The Heritage Street will connect the historic sites of Fort Sri Anandgarh Sahib, Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, and other significant Gurudwaras. This initiative aims to create a spiritual and cultural corridor for pilgrims and visitors, reinforcing the state’s commitment to preserving its religious and historical legacy.
Chief Minister Mann emphasized the importance of the Heritage Street project, stating it will begin at the roundabout near Fort Anandgarh Sahib and extend to Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Park, Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, and Gurudwara Bhora Sahib. The project aims to enhance the spiritual and heritage experience for visitors.
He assured that all necessary approvals would be obtained from relevant authorities to ensure the smooth implementation of the project. Mann added, “This design will receive formal approval from the Central Ministry of Tourism and other concerned officials. A high-level committee will also be established to oversee the seamless execution of the project.”
