Tragedy Strikes in Jharkhand: Two Children Drown in River, Search for Third Ongoing

Chatra, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : In a tragic incident in Chatra, Jharkhand, two children were found dead in the Kargu Pater River near Ghurunadi village on Friday. The bodies were discovered at different locations: one was recovered from the river’s current, while the other was found along the riverbank. As of now, the identities of the deceased children remain unknown.

Reports indicate that the children were part of a trio who had gone to the river for a picnic. They reportedly prepared pasta and later went for a swim. During their time in the water, all three children ventured into deeper areas and subsequently drowned.

Upon receiving news of the incident, local villagers rushed to the scene. They notified the police after spotting the two bodies in the river. A police team promptly arrived and, with the help of villagers, retrieved the children’s remains from the water.

Authorities have initiated the process of identifying the bodies. They are gathering information from nearby villages to assist in this effort. Meanwhile, the whereabouts of the third child remain uncertain. There are concerns that he may also have drowned, although investigators are also exploring the possibility that he might have managed to leave the river safely.

Search operations are ongoing in the area as police work to locate the missing child. A crowd of villagers has gathered at the site, and authorities have also recovered two bicycles, three pairs of sandals, two bags, and other belongings, which may aid in identifying the children.
