New Delhi, February 17: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi expressed hope that Tarek Rahman, upon taking office as Prime Minister of Bangladesh, will work to improve India-Bangladesh relations. She emphasized the importance of the democratic values that brought him to power, hoping he will address the atrocities faced by Hindus in Bangladesh.
In a recent conversation, Chaturvedi noted that after decades, a man will once again lead Bangladesh. She expressed optimism that the democracy under which Rahman was elected will help mend the strained ties between India and Bangladesh. Referring to recent events, she highlighted that radical elements, allegedly backed by Pakistan, have been targeting Hindus, leading to incidents of lynching and murder. She believes Rahman will take action against these violent acts and ensure justice for the victims.
Commenting on Mohammad Yunus’s farewell speech, Chaturvedi accused him of acting as a puppet for Pakistan, aiming to deteriorate relations between India and Bangladesh. She criticized him for allowing Hindus to become targets and for ignoring the violence that ensued.
Regarding French President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to India, Chaturvedi remarked that India and France have always maintained friendly relations. She noted the strong strategic partnership that has developed over time, particularly in defense and trade. With shared democratic values and a commitment to a rules-based global order, she believes that the alignment between the two nations will lead to progress and development, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for their citizens.
