Prime Minister Modi to Launch Over ₹1,063 Crore GIDC Projects in Gujarat on June 5

Gandhinagar, June 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on June 5. During this visit, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹18,777 crore from both the Government of India and the Gujarat Government.

Among these initiatives aimed at boosting development in South Gujarat are eight projects under the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), costing ₹1,063.43 crore. Bharuch will receive projects worth over ₹894 crore, while Valsad will benefit from projects totaling ₹169.3 crore. These projects will enhance infrastructure, wastewater management, and drainage systems in the industrial sectors of South Gujarat.

Gujarat has consistently been a leader in India’s industrial development, with Bharuch emerging as a key hub for the chemical and petrochemical industries. As part of efforts to strengthen Bharuch’s industrial capacity, the Prime Minister will inaugurate six GIDC projects worth over ₹894 crore. A significant project includes the construction of a 90 MLD offshore and onshore effluent disposal pipeline from the Saykha pumping station to the Dahej landfall point. This project, valued at ₹474.61 crore, will significantly improve the management of polluted water in the Dahej and Saykha industrial areas.

In the Dahej PCPIR region, essential infrastructure is being developed primarily for the chemical, textile, pharma, dye, and engineering industries. Currently, over 1,000 industrial units are operational in this area.

Additionally, significant infrastructure facilities such as roads, stormwater drainage networks, and central drains have been developed at the bulk drug park located in Jambusar, Bharuch district, catering to the needs of the pharmaceutical industry. This project, initiated at a cost of ₹274.96 crore, will accelerate the infrastructural development of the bulk drug park.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 30 MLD drainage pumping station for the Dahej-2 industrial estate. Notably, this project includes the construction of a drainage pumping station with a rising main from the Suva pumping station to the final pumping station Z-93. This initiative will enhance industrial drainage management and strengthen the integrated effluent transport network.

Moreover, various infrastructural facilities, including flexible road pavement, cross drainage work, water supply networks, compound walls, paver blocks, tree planting, and street lighting, have been developed in the Panoli expansion industrial area. These developments will provide better infrastructural facilities in this industrial sector.

Other projects include the construction of an intermediate booster pumping station on the effluent transmission pipeline in Ankleshwar. This project will ensure efficient transportation of polluted water while adhering to environmental standards.

Similarly, the upgrade of Natural Drain-2 has been undertaken to improve the rainwater carrying capacity of the Dahej-1 industrial estate, reduce flooding risks, and strengthen the overall rainwater drainage system in the area.

In Valsad district, the Prime Minister will inaugurate two significant GIDC projects in Sarigam. This includes increasing the capacity of the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) from 15 MLD to 25 MLD, enhancing the purification capacity of polluted water and ensuring effective compliance with environmental standards. This project encompasses design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, testing, trial runs, and operation maintenance and repair work.

Additionally, HDPE onshore and offshore outfall pipelines have been constructed in the Sarigam industrial estate, connecting the pumping station to the landfall chamber and the deep-sea disposal site.
