Bhopal, June 18: President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a five-day visit to Madhya Pradesh starting today. She will be the chief guest at the International Yoga Day celebrations in Jabalpur.
According to the official itinerary, President Murmu will be in Madhya Pradesh from June 18 to June 22. During her visit, she will participate in various events across Indore, Betul, the Omkareshwar Temple in Khandwa district, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Kuno National Park in Shyopur. The President will arrive in Indore today.
Following her arrival, she will attend the “Empowerment of Tribal Society by Spiritual Awakening” program organized by the Brahma Kumaris in Betul. Additionally, she will visit the Omkareshwar Temple for prayers and rituals. On June 19, President Murmu will participate in an event in Omkareshwar to mark International Sickle Cell Day. On June 20, she will reach Jabalpur, and on June 21, she will join the International Yoga Day program. Afterward, she will attend the 36th convocation ceremony at Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur.
On June 22, President Murmu will tour Kuno National Park before departing for Gwalior and then heading back to New Delhi.
During her visit to various districts in Madhya Pradesh, the state government has appointed ministers as ministers-in-waiting for her welcome and farewell. As per the order from the General Administration Department, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat will be responsible for her welcome in Indore on June 18, while Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will handle her farewell on June 19.
In Betul, State Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Narendra Shivaji Patel will welcome and bid farewell to her on June 18. In Khandwa’s Omkareshwar, Culture, Tourism, Religious Trust, and Religious Affairs Minister (Independent Charge) Dharmendra Bhavsingh Lodhi will take charge of the welcome and farewell on June 18 and 19. In Jabalpur, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda will welcome and bid farewell to the President on June 20 and 21.
Similarly, in Shyopur, Minister of New and Renewable Energy Rakesh Shukla will be the minister-in-waiting on June 21 and 22, while Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat will take on the same role in Gwalior on June 21 and 22.
