
Jammu, June 19: Preparations for International Yoga Day are in full swing in Jammu and Kashmir. In this context, the World Yoga Institute organized a three-day yoga program in Jammu city, where enthusiastic participation was seen from students of various schools and local residents.
The aim of the event was to raise awareness about yoga and promote a healthy lifestyle. Participants engaged in various yoga asanas and pranayama, showcasing great enthusiasm.
BJP legislator Vikram Randhawa attended the event as the chief guest. He participated in the yoga session and addressed the attendees, stating that preparations for yoga are underway not just from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, but across the globe for International Yoga Day.
Randhawa mentioned in an interview that Jammu, known as the city of temples, has always been a suitable place for yoga and spiritual activities, with various organizations consistently hosting large-scale events.
He highlighted that yoga programs are being organized at different locations throughout Jammu and Kashmir, and efforts are being made to raise awareness among the people. “We should practice yoga not just on one day but regularly, as it greatly benefits the body,” he said.
Yoga guru Acharya Dr. Karan also spoke to the news agency, emphasizing the initiative to keep people healthy through yoga. He noted that young children are performing yoga excellently, which will benefit them significantly. Today, efforts are being made to raise awareness about yoga in every household.
He added that his team is conducting an awareness campaign for the events scheduled on June 20 and 21, aiming to inspire as many people as possible to attend and learn about yoga. “We strive to have yoga events regularly because practicing yoga daily brings substantial benefits,” he concluded.
