Lucknow, June 28: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has underscored the importance of fire safety by directing an immediate verification of fire NOC statuses across all government and private medical colleges, hospitals, and hotels in the state.
He stated that institutions with expiring fire NOCs or those lacking valid NOCs should receive immediate notices. “There can be no compromise on public safety,” he asserted. All district magistrates are tasked with ensuring strict adherence to fire safety standards in collaboration with relevant departments.
During a meeting of the State Transformation Commission, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of various public welfare projects, including expressways, industrial infrastructure, rural livelihoods, energy, agriculture, data centers, and EV charging stations.
He instructed officials that each project must be completed within the set timelines and with high quality. “Unnecessary delays in development works will not be tolerated,” he emphasized.
The meeting also reviewed compliance with directives from the previous CM’s review meeting. It was reported that out of the required 1,339.04 hectares for the Farrukhabad link expressway, 1,135.57 hectares, or 84.80%, has been acquired. For the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal link expressway, 315.73 hectares, or 49.05%, has been secured out of 643.60 hectares.
CM Yogi expressed satisfaction with the land acquisition progress for the Farrukhabad link expressway and urged a swift tendering process for construction. He noted that new expressways will serve as a pivotal axis for industrial development in Uttar Pradesh, and adequate land availability for industrial zones along these routes must be ensured.
He directed district officials to expedite land acquisition processes for the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal, Jhansi, and Jewar link expressways. The meeting also reviewed the progress of the Meerut-Haridwar, Vindhya, Vindhya-Purvanchal, and Noida-Jewar link expressways.
Progress on the multi-modal logistics hub and transport hub in Greater Noida was also discussed. Most of the land for the logistics hub has been acquired, and the remaining acquisition and developer selection processes are underway.
The Chief Minister instructed that the remaining project tasks be completed promptly. He reviewed the proposed model building bylaws for industrial development authorities, directing that objections be addressed and the revised proposal be presented to the cabinet within 15 days.
The meeting also assessed the progress of recruitment and deployment for vacant positions at the state, district, and block levels under the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, with directives to complete the hiring process timely.
Given the increasing number of electric vehicles in the state, the establishment of EV charging stations is now essential. The Chief Minister noted the vast potential for private investment in this area and called for the simplification of necessary approvals and processes to ensure rapid expansion of charging infrastructure.
It was reported that charging stations are being set up at selected sites under the Prime Minister‘s e-Drive scheme. The meeting also reviewed the progress of establishing data center clusters.
CM Yogi urged that data center projects be expedited to position Uttar Pradesh as a leading state in digital infrastructure. The review included discussions on relocating high-tension power lines running through sewer lines and manholes in the Lucknow Municipal Corporation area, with instructions to prioritize this task.
During the energy department review, the Chief Minister directed the commissioners of Meerut, Agra, and Saharanpur to establish accountability for line losses on a feeder basis. He emphasized that strict action should be taken against reported electricity thefts, ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply to honest consumers.
