Congress Gears Up for Uttarakhand Assembly Elections, Promises to Connect with Voters

Champawat, June 28: The Congress party has begun preparations for the upcoming Uttarakhand Assembly elections scheduled for 2027. On Sunday, Congress state president Ganesh Godiyal launched the Parivartan Sankalp Conference in Champawat district, aiming to rally support for the party’s victory next year.

Ganesh Godiyal expressed his excitement about starting this initiative in the sacred land of Kumaon, specifically from the Champawat Assembly constituency. He paid homage to the region and committed to ensuring that the Congress party returns to power in 2027. Godiyal emphasized that their goal is not merely to gain power but to fulfill the dreams and vision for which Uttarakhand was established.

He outlined the plan for the Parivartan Sankalp Conferences, which will take place in phases. The first phase will cover Champawat, Pithoragarh, and Bageshwar. The second phase will include Almora, while the third phase will focus on Pauri Garhwal, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and finally, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts. In the first phase, he and other party members will lead the events. The second phase will see Karan Mehra and other local leaders participating, while Dr. Harak Singh Rawat will join in the third phase, and Pritam Singh will be involved in the fourth phase with other regional leaders.

Godiyal mentioned that senior leaders like Harish Rawat, Yashpal Arya, in-charge Shailaja, and in-charge Surendra Sharma will sequentially participate in all zones. Initially, they will hold events in the mountains, followed by programs in the Terai region, extending from Haridwar to Dehradun. He believes that the mountain programs will be completed by the 10th, with events in the Terai region commencing from the 15th, covering Haridwar to Udham Singh Nagar and Dehradun.

According to him, each round of outreach will focus on engaging with voters in every assembly constituency. Senior leaders will visit each constituency three to four times before the 2027 elections to maintain a strong presence among the people.
