Tragic Plane Crash in France Claims 11 Lives

Paris, June 28: A civilian aircraft crashed in the northeastern French town of Tomblaine on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals. Local authorities have confirmed the incident. Additionally, a helicopter accident in Saudi Arabia has also been reported, claiming 14 lives.

In the Tomblaine crash, 10 passengers, including the pilot, lost their lives. The deceased comprised five students and five instructors.

According to local media, the aircraft was associated with a parachute training school. The crash occurred shortly after takeoff from Nancy-Essey Airport around 11 AM.

Authorities have urged the public to stay away from the area surrounding the airport in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department. The French Ministry of the Interior announced that the Home Minister is en route to the crash site. An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the accident.

Local newspaper L’Est Républicain reported that a group of skydivers was on board the aircraft. The plane crashed into several pieces near Nancy in northeastern France.

Most of the passengers were nurses working in Nancy, experiencing skydiving for the first time. Upon learning of the incident, Thierry Peche, president of the Meurthe-et-Moselle branch of the Order of Independent Nurses, arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

The exact cause of the crash remains unclear. Investigative agencies are working to uncover the reasons behind the accident, which may involve technical failure, weather conditions, or other factors. This incident is considered one of the most severe aviation accidents in recent French history.

Earlier, a helicopter crash in Saudi Arabia also resulted in 14 fatalities. The incident occurred at 6 AM local time in the Ras Tanura area. The helicopter was owned by the Saudi government’s oil company.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), all the deceased were Saudi nationals.
