Barnala, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Late last night, gunfire broke out at the residence of renowned Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu in Barnala. According to reports, three unidentified assailants arrived on motorcycles in the village of Farwahi, with their faces concealed. Upon reaching the gate of Sidhu’s home, they fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene. The sudden incident caused panic in the area.
Initial reports indicate that no one was injured in the shooting. The village of Farwahi, located in Barnala district, is linked to Sidhu, making this incident particularly concerning. After the attack, the assailants escaped on their bikes. As of now, the motive behind the attack remains unclear, and local police are investigating the case.
This incident is serious for Sidhu, as he has previously faced threats. In January 2026, Barnala police claimed to have thwarted a plot to attack him. They arrested three individuals, including Baljinder Singh, also known as Kinda, the village head of Kotduna.
Police reports indicated that two other suspects, Balvinder Singh, known as Binder Mann, and Gurvinder Singh, known as Gill, were also apprehended. Authorities recovered weapons and ammunition from the suspects, who allegedly planned to target Sidhu. The police connected this plot to a controversy surrounding one of Sidhu’s songs, which had drawn criticism from some village heads in Punjab.
Gulab Sidhu has made a significant mark in the Punjabi music industry over the past few years. His popular tracks include “Panchhi,” “Taur Kadd Da,” “Sardarni,” “Dil Jatt Da,” “Chadare,” “Jatt De Irade,” and “Photo Te Flower.” He has also collaborated with the late Sidhu Moosewala, with their song “Bye Bye” released in 2020 becoming a notable hit.
Sidhu’s career extends beyond his classic hits. He has been actively working on new projects in 2025 and 2026, releasing songs such as “Jatta Love You,” “Garoora,” “Galbat,” “Jamana,” “Sardari,” “Sarpanch-Title Track,” “Creamland,” and “Mangani.”
