Mumbai, August 20: Actor Prakash Raj’s upcoming Telugu original web series, ‘Jagamae Sangitam,’ has announced its release date. The series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 4. It beautifully merges the tradition of Karnataka music with contemporary sounds.
In this series, Prakash Raj will portray a renowned and dedicated classical Karnataka music maestro, Shastri. Set against the backdrop of the sacred city of Vaikunthapuram, the series will explore themes of tradition, family legacy, and long-hidden secrets. Raj’s character is central to the series’ emotional and musical journey.
The makers shared a poster on Instagram, stating, “When tradition meets stardom, two voices strive to find their melody. Series ‘Jagamae Sangitam’ premieres on September 4.”
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of SVOD Originals at Prime Video India, described the series as a remarkable story that celebrates the emotional power of music while addressing universal themes like family, heritage, and self-discovery. He emphasized that the series poses enduring questions about tradition, ambition, and the courage to carve one’s own path, supported by the creative vision of Palanati Surya Pratap, the passionate production of Sushmita Konidela, and the touching music of Vishal Chandrasekhar.
Producer Sushmita Konidela expressed, “From the beginning, we aimed to tell a story where music transcends mere entertainment to become an emotional language that a family uses to express what words often fail to convey: love, conflict, desire, pride, hope, and ultimately, healing.”
Directed by Palanati Surya Pratap, ‘Jagamae Sangitam’ features a stellar cast, including Mekha Srikanth, Madhubala, Akshay Lagusani, and Sushmita Shetty, among others. The series will also showcase performances by Suman, Sijju Menon, Shafi, Jhansi, Raghu Babu Yera, Rocket Raghav, Nagi Jabardasth, Mirchi Kiran, Keshav Deepak, Priyanka Nalkari, Manik Reddy, Prachi Thakar, and Roopa Lakshmi in significant roles.
The series will be available in Telugu with English subtitles and dubbed in Tamil, streaming on Prime Video in over 240 countries worldwide.
