Suhail Nayyar Reflects on Working with Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor: A Unique Experience with Each

Mumbai, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : Actor Suhail Nayyar is currently in the spotlight as he promotes his upcoming film “Uda Tiyaar.” Ahead of its release, he has been sharing insights from his career, particularly his experiences working with legendary actor Rishi Kapoor and his son, Ranbir Kapoor.

In a recent interview, Suhail discussed the contrasting styles and behaviors of both actors on set. He noted that his experiences with them were remarkably different.

“I worked with Rishi Kapoor in ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ and now I’m collaborating with Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Ramayana: Part 2.’ Each actor has a distinct personality,” he remarked.

In “Sharmaji Namkeen,” Rishi Kapoor played the lead role of Sharma Ji. Following his passing in 2020, actor Paresh Rawal completed the remaining scenes. This unique situation allowed Suhail to work with two different actors for the same character.

Recalling his time on set, Suhail shared, “I shot the same scene first with Rishi Kapoor and then with Paresh Rawal. My character was Sharma Ji’s son, so my reactions varied depending on who was in front of me. In one scene, my character responds to his father, Sharma Ji. I adjusted my performance based on the actor present.”

Suhail expressed that he faced no difficulties performing the same scene with both actors. Instead, he found the experience enriching. “I didn’t find the process strange at all. I consider myself fortunate to have been part of such a film,” he said.

When asked if he noticed any similarities in the working styles of Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor, Suhail emphasized their differences. “They are quite distinct. Due to age, experience, and relationships, my experiences with both were unique. The bond I felt with Ranbir was something I didn’t have with Rishi. Rishi was much more mature. I often asked him about his early work and career, and listening to his experiences was a valuable lesson for me.”
