Political Turmoil in Karnataka: D.K. Shivakumars Chief Ministerial Aspirations Rise Amid Siddaramaiah Resignation Rumors

Bengaluru, May 28: Political activity in Karnataka has intensified regarding the Chief Minister position. Amid rumors of Siddaramaiah’s resignation, excitement is growing among Congress workers about the possibility of D.K. Shivakumar taking over as Chief Minister.

In Mysuru, Tejesh Lokesh Gowda, the district president of the Karnataka Army, performed a prayer ritual for Lord Ganesha, wishing for D.K. Shivakumar to become Chief Minister. He broke a coconut during the prayer, expressing hopes that Shivakumar would prove to be an effective leader. “We prayed and broke a coconut for D.K. Shivakumar’s ascension to the Chief Minister’s office. With Siddaramaiah’s resignation, he now has the opportunity to lead. We prayed to Lord Ganesha for him to be a good Chief Minister,” said Tejesh Lokesh Gowda.

In Bengaluru, Congress worker Umashankar claimed, “D.K. Shivakumar will take the oath of office as Chief Minister tomorrow, and we will celebrate this grandly.”

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale commented in Mumbai, “There has always been talk of making Shivakumar the Chief Minister in Karnataka. However, it is an internal matter for the Congress Party to decide whom they choose.”

Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar, speaking from Nagpur, praised Siddaramaiah, stating, “Siddaramaiah is a very senior and respected leader in our party. He will be given full respect within the party. He has done well as Chief Minister. Bringing in new and young leadership while respecting senior leaders is a positive step.”

Regarding the upcoming Legislative Council elections, Wadettiwar mentioned, “Let the candidates be announced first. The BJP has finalized its list, and then we will release ours.”

For a long time, there has been a power struggle between the Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar factions within the Karnataka Congress. According to party insiders, the high command may make a decision balancing both senior leaders. D.K. Shivakumar is believed to have strong support among the Lingayat and Vokkaliga communities in Karnataka. He has played a crucial role in strengthening the party organization. If he becomes Chief Minister, it would signify a new beginning for the Karnataka Congress.
