Ranchi, June 26: The political landscape is heating up as Sana Malik’s alleged affection for Pakistan has sparked reactions from various leaders. Amidst speculation about her connections with the opposition, BJP leader Pratul Shahdev has made a bold statement regarding her loyalty.
In a recent conversation, Shahdev suggested that if Malik has such a strong affinity for Pakistan, she should consider relocating there. He provocatively stated that she could marry a man with multiple wives, implying that her choices would be more accepted in Pakistan. He questioned whether Malik would allow her daughter to marry someone who is a fourth husband.
Shahdev emphasized that the government, under Narendra Modi’s leadership, is committed to ensuring justice for Muslim women. However, he criticized what he described as a “jihadi mindset” that promotes polygamy, suggesting that such attitudes reflect a blatant disregard for societal norms. He asserted that individuals with Malik’s perspective have no place in India.
Discussing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in West Bengal, Shahdev referenced Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s vision of a unified legal framework, stating that the current allowance for multiple marriages within certain communities contradicts this principle. He questioned whether any father would want his daughter to become a fourth wife.
Shahdev pointed to Goa as a successful example of the UCC, which has been in place for over 50 years without issues. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the rights of Muslim daughters and highlighted efforts to combat practices like triple talaq. He raised concerns about illegal immigrants marrying local Muslim women to gain land ownership and citizenship in Bengal.
Responding to speculation about Sharad Pawar’s connections with the opposition, Shahdev clarified that the BJP and NDA do not seek to destabilize any party. He stated that their government is functioning well with majority support, and if individuals wish to join them against their party’s policies, they are free to do so.
On Congress leader Hussain Dalwai’s remarks, Shahdev criticized the ignorance of those who fail to recognize the Emergency as one of the darkest chapters in Indian history, during which fundamental rights were violated and many leaders imprisoned.
