Police Intensifies Search for Fugitive Suspects in Kaushambi Fireworks Factory Blast

Mumbai, September 1: In a tragic incident in Kaushambi district, Uttar Pradesh, a devastating explosion occurred at a fireworks factory. Following this incident, local police have ramped up their efforts to apprehend three fugitive suspects. The Superintendent of Police, Satyanarayan, announced a reward of ₹25,000 for information leading to the arrest of each of the wanted individuals.

According to police reports, the suspects have been on the run since the explosion, which took place on August 31 in the Pipri police station area. A case has been registered against six individuals under FIR number 219/2026 at the Pipri police station. The charges include violations of sections 105 and 288 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as sections 4, 5, and 9B of the Explosives Act.

So far, three suspects have been arrested, one of whom was captured during a police encounter. The remaining fugitives have been identified as Shakeel, son of Nizamuddin, Kahkasha Bano, wife of Naushad, and Adil, son of Naushad, all residents of Mahmoodpur Manori in the Pipri area.

The Superintendent of Police has urged the public to assist in locating the fugitives. He emphasized that any information provided will be kept confidential. Following the explosion, which resulted in the deaths of 11 individuals and left five others severely injured, authorities have taken the matter seriously, intensifying investigations and actions against illegal fireworks manufacturing and storage.

In a significant move, the Inspector General of Police for the Prayagraj region has suspended seven inspectors and sub-inspectors stationed at the Pipri police station and Chail outpost for failing to act against the accused. The explosion occurred around 11:30 AM on August 31 in an illegal fireworks manufacturing and storage facility located in the village of Chilla Shahbaji.

The investigation revealed that the factory had been granted permission to operate until March 31, 2026, under the name of Ali, son of Nizamuddin, a resident of Mahmoodpur Manori. The police are continuing their efforts to gather information and ensure the apprehension of all involved in this tragic incident.
