The Poco X8 Pro has secured another certification, signalling an imminent launch. After gaining approvals from Europe’s EEC, India’s BIS, and SGS, the smartphone has now been certified by Indonesia’s SDPPI authority.
The SDPPI listing shows a Poco device with the model number 2511FPC34G, though it does not disclose the final marketing name or detailed specifications. Industry sources speculate that the Poco X8 Pro could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5, which is anticipated to launch in China later this month.
This approach follows Poco’s earlier strategy with the Poco X7 Pro, which was essentially a renamed Redmi Turbo 4 for the Chinese market. The X8 Pro is expected to continue this trend.
Rumoured specifications for the Poco X8 Pro include a 1.5K LTPS OLED display and a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset. The phone is also said to feature a 6,500mAh battery with support for up to 100W fast charging. On the software side, it may run Android 16 with the HyperOS 3 interface.
Reports also suggest that Poco might skip launching a standard Poco X8 this year. Instead, the lineup could feature a Poco X8 Pro Max, likely a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro powered by the Dimensity 9500e chipset. The Turbo 5 Pro is expected to debut in China soon.
