Poco X8 Pro Clears Indonesia Certification, Launch Expected Soon

The Poco X8 Pro smartphone has recently received certification from Indonesia’s SDPPI authority, adding to its earlier approvals in Europe’s EEC, India’s BIS, and SGS. The latest certification hints that the phone’s launch could be imminent. However, the listing does not disclose any specifications or official marketing name of the device.

It is widely speculated that the Poco X8 Pro might be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5, which is anticipated to launch later this month in China. The model number appearing in the SDPPI listing is 2511FPC34G, closely related to the Redmi Turbo 5’s model number 2511FRT34C.

Following the pattern of the Poco X7 Pro, which was essentially a rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 for the Chinese market, the Poco X8 Pro is expected to adopt a similar strategy. This approach suggests that the X8 Pro will launch as a renamed Redmi Turbo 5 in other regions.

According to rumours, the Poco X8 Pro may feature a 1.5K LTPS OLED display and be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset. It is also expected to come with a 6,500mAh battery supporting up to 100W fast charging. On the software front, the phone is likely to run on Android 16 with HyperOS 3 on top.

There are reports that Poco may skip launching a standard Poco X8 this year. Instead, the lineup might include a Poco X8 Pro Max, which is believed to be a rebranded version of the Dimensity 9500e-powered Redmi Turbo 5 Pro. The latter is also expected to debut in China soon.
