Betul, July 28: A seminar and awareness program under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was held in Betul district, Madhya Pradesh. Organized by officials from the MSME Development Office in Indore, the event attracted over 180 beneficiaries from various blocks in the district at the district panchayat office auditorium.
Beneficiaries expressed that the scheme has been incredibly beneficial for the general public, revitalizing their businesses and improving their family situations. They extended their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Neelam Patil, a female beneficiary, shared, “I received a loan of one lakh rupees under this scheme. Our family situation was very poor before. I applied for loans multiple times but was unsuccessful. After joining the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, I received a loan of one lakh rupees and a toolkit worth 15 thousand rupees. My business is now thriving. I thank the Modi government.”
Suresh Saratkar, a mason, stated, “I received a loan, certificate, and toolkit through the scheme. This has significantly boosted my business. I work in centering and now need another loan to further expand my operations.”
Aarti Barsakar, a female beneficiary who creates brass sculptures, mentioned, “I applied under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme to grow my business. I received basic training along with a stipend. A loan is also on the way. This scheme has made it easier to secure loans from banks. Through digital platforms, we can sell our products both nationally and internationally. My family and life are improving.”
Gaurav Goyal, Assistant Director at the MSME Development Office in Betul, explained, “The main objective of this workshop was to educate beneficiaries about funding and marketing. Over 150 male and female beneficiaries attended. We informed them how to advance their businesses after receiving toolkits and loans, including product packaging, marketing, using AI, and protecting against cybercrime.”
He noted that several beneficiaries have yet to receive loans or toolkits. Feedback on their issues has been collected, and the district administration is working to ensure they receive benefits as soon as possible. A review of the number of beneficiaries and achievements is also underway as the scheme marks its third anniversary.
The program saw the highest participation from beneficiaries involved in iron and brass businesses. Under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, artisans and craftsmen are provided loans, toolkits, training, and certificates, strengthening small businesses in both rural and urban areas.
