PM Surya Home Scheme Transforms Lives in Sheikhpura, Eases Electricity Bill Worries

Sheikhpura, August 24: The PM Surya Home Free Electricity Scheme has brought significant relief to many families in Sheikhpura district, Bihar. Beneficiaries of this initiative report a reduced dependency on electricity and a substantial decrease in their monthly electricity bills.

Under this scheme, the central government offers subsidies of up to ₹78,000 for installing solar panels on rooftops. Participants can benefit from up to 300 units of free electricity each month, helping to alleviate financial burdens.

Kanchan Kumari, a beneficiary of the scheme, shared that her family previously faced constant stress over electricity costs. During study hours, her children often had to limit the use of fans due to high bills.

“Since installing the solar panels, we no longer worry about electricity consumption. Our family can now freely use fans and lights, and our electricity bill has dropped to zero,” she stated.

Kanchan urged other residents to take advantage of the PM Surya Home Scheme, describing it as a beneficial government initiative that can significantly relieve the burden of rising electricity costs. She expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this program.

District Magistrate Shekhar Anand mentioned that the district administration is assisting those interested in installing solar panels. He noted that support is provided at every stage, from planning to securing loans and coordinating with the electricity department. Anand encouraged the residents of Sheikhpura to maximize the benefits of the PM Surya Home Free Electricity Scheme by installing solar panels on their rooftops.

Ashish Kumar and Usha Devi also thanked PM Modi for such a commendable initiative that has freed them from monthly electricity bills. They highlighted their complete reliance on the electricity generated from their rooftop solar panels.

For many beneficiaries, this scheme not only reduces electricity bills but also allows them the freedom to use essential household appliances like fans, coolers, and air conditioners without the worry of high monthly electricity costs.
