New Delhi, August 24: In a significant move to strengthen the operational capabilities of women in the country’s counter-terrorism framework, the National Security Guard (NSG) Training Academy in Manesar has initiated its first Women Commando Conversion Course for female personnel from state police forces and central armed police forces.
This specialized 12-week training program aims to develop female personnel into physically empowered, technically proficient commandos fully prepared for counter-terrorism operations.
Participants will receive intensive training in physical fitness, weapon handling and shooting, tactical intervention, hostage rescue, and other specialized subjects related to counter-terrorism operations.
According to the NSG, this initiative goes beyond individual training. It seeks to create a comprehensive network of trained operational capacity across the nation by connecting female personnel from various security forces with the NSG’s specialized counter-terrorism expertise. This will foster uniform professional standards among security forces and enhance coordination and operational effectiveness.
Upon completing the training, female personnel will return to their respective forces, utilizing their advanced skills and operational experience. This will strengthen institutional preparedness and expand counter-terrorism capabilities nationwide.
The NSG emphasizes that the first Women Commando Conversion Course is not just about increasing women’s participation in security services but is a significant step towards empowering them to undertake special and challenging responsibilities.
