Bareilly, August 24: Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, the national president of the All India Muslim Jamaat, has called for adherence to Islamic practices during the upcoming Milad Un Nabi processions. He emphasized that the celebrations on August 26 will be observed not only in India but globally. On this occasion, he extended greetings to all citizens of the country.
In a conversation in Bareilly, Barelvi expressed concern over certain practices that have crept into the Milad Un Nabi processions in various cities and villages, which he believes are not in accordance with Sharia law. He urged Muslim youth to refrain from such activities during the processions.
He stated that discussions regarding the community’s safety and religious decorum have been conducted from a Sharia perspective, and a fatwa has been issued. Barelvi specifically requested that no DJs be used during the processions. He stressed the importance of conducting the events in a manner that does not cause issues for others and aligns with Sharia, to avoid any negative perceptions. He pointed out that many activities during these processions are not deemed acceptable.
Barelvi also highlighted the adverse health effects of loud DJ music, noting that it can cause damage to people’s homes and negatively impact mental and physical health. He urged the community to avoid such non-Islamic practices.
Additionally, Barelvi supported the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to investigate 558 madrasas. He noted that a committee has been formed to examine appointments made within these institutions.
He expressed his backing for the investigation, citing ongoing complaints regarding mismanagement in madrasas. He acknowledged that he is aware of several complaints that the government and the public are also familiar with. Barelvi insisted that any irregularities or corruption must be thoroughly investigated, stating that corruption in religious matters is shameful. He deemed the government’s order for an investigation entirely appropriate.
