Hotelier Shot Dead in Jamshedpur: Investigation Underway

Jamshedpur, August 24: In a shocking incident, 33-year-old hotelier Nikhar Sablok was shot dead in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The attack occurred on Monday evening near Kanderbeda Chowk in the Chandil police station area along NH-33, causing panic in Jamshedpur and its surroundings.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter. Nikhar, a resident of Vijaya Heritage in the Kadma area, had visited the Tenth Milestone Hotel in Kanderbeda for a meeting with friends. As he was leaving the hotel, two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire on him. Nikhar was hit by four bullets, one of which struck his head. He was rushed to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) in Jamshedpur, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

Authorities recovered eight bullet casings from the crime scene. Following the incident, police officials, including the DSP of Chandil, arrived at the location to conduct an investigation. Officers from MGM, Azadnagar, and Ulidih police stations also visited the site.

The police have begun questioning local residents. Nikhar Sablok was a well-known hotelier in Jamshedpur and was involved in various businesses, with family interests reportedly extending abroad. Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the murder. Initial inquiries suggest that a land dispute worth millions could be a potential reason for the killing. Additionally, the angles of extortion and gang rivalry are also being explored.

The police are considering several possible motives, including business rivalries. They are reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel and the surrounding NH-33 area to identify the attackers. According to police sources, some suspects have already been detained for questioning.
