Beijing, August 24: The second World Humanoid Robot Games are taking place in China’s capital from August 22 to 26. A total of 666 teams from 16 countries, featuring over 2,056 robots, are competing in 51 events.
Reports indicate that China’s “TianKong Ultra” humanoid robot completed a 100-meter race in 9.39 seconds, breaking the human world record set by the famous Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt.
Recently, various media outlets have reported on the World Humanoid Robot Games. The rapid development of Chinese robots and their industrial benefits have become hot topics on social media abroad.
UAE’s media outlet, Voice of UAE, noted that last year, the “TianKong Ultra” robot won the championship with a time of 21.50 seconds. This significant improvement in performance within just one year highlights China’s major achievements in robotic dynamic motion and engineering.
Pakistan’s Daily Independent reported that in the first half of this year, shipments of humanoid robots in China exceeded 40,000 units, accounting for 97 percent of global shipments.
According to Andres Keskemethy, president of the International Federation for Mechanism and Machine Science, China’s technological innovations in humanoid robots are remarkable. These robots are widely used in industrial manufacturing, elderly care at home, emergency assistance, and public services.
