New Delhi, April 5: On the occasion of Easter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla extended their warm wishes to the citizens of India, emphasizing the significance of this festival.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed his Easter greetings, stating that this sacred day symbolizes hope and new life. He expressed his wish that this celebration brings peace, joy, and light into everyone’s lives. Furthermore, he highlighted that the teachings of Jesus Christ inspire people to be compassionate and strengthen the spirit of unity in society.

President Droupadi Murmu also shared her Easter wishes, noting that this holy day commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. She remarked that this occasion encourages us to embrace values such as truth, love, compassion, sacrifice, and forgiveness. The President urged people to collectively resolve to promote peace, harmony, and brotherhood on this day.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla added his Easter greetings, stating that this day signifies new beginnings, strengthens faith, and brings countless blessings of happiness, peace, and divine grace into our lives.

Easter is regarded as the most significant festival in Christianity, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is said that Jesus rose from the dead three days after being crucified under Roman rule, symbolizing victory over sin and death.

Easter also marks the final and most important day of Holy Week, which includes significant days such as Palm Sunday (Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem), Maundy Thursday (the Last Supper), and Good Friday (the crucifixion).

Easter eggs are also a special part of this celebration. The eggs symbolize new life and the empty tomb. Traditionally, they are dyed red, representing the blood of Christ.
