New Delhi, August 5 (H.S.): Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who is on a five-day official visit to India, held important bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House on Monday. The visit marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and the Philippines.

As part of his schedule, President Marcos is also set to meet President Droupadi Murmu and Union Health Minister and BJP National President J.P. Nadda later today.
Earlier in the day, President Marcos paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, honouring the Father of the Nation. Following this, his bilateral meeting with PM Modi focused on strengthening cooperation in areas including maritime security, defence, trade, and digital technology.
Before today’s meetings, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had welcomed President Marcos upon his arrival in India on Monday for the state visit.
During his tour, the Philippine President is also scheduled to visit Bengaluru, further deepening ties between the two nations through sustained political and strategic dialogue.
